If TRIM support is not available for SSDs configured in RAID how do you prevent the performance degradation of write operations that overwrite data on SSDs?

TRIM with RAID, if rumors are correct, will eventually come to life with future RAID controllers. If you RAID a couple SSD's, you're relying on the built in garbage collection - however after enough use, your drives will degrade. It's the nature of the beast.

Bare in mind, it depends heavily on HOW you use the volume in RAID as well. If you're planning on doing a ridiculous amount of writing/deleting - RAID0 is likely not for you in this configuration. However, if you're planning on loading some software/games on this volume and want ridiculously fast speeds - it's going to be something that lasts you much longer.

Please keep in mind - SSD's are still relatively young, as new controllers are being released constantly. Each controller improves upon the last, which is to say - this is still a technology that is maturing.
