Gin experts, I have been a big fan of Hendricks, but this weekend, up in the Hamptons, I was introduced to Bluecoat Gin. I found it pretty smooth, but never had a chance to try it on the rocks for a proper comparison. Are you familiar, and if so what are your thoughts?

According to UDABC, Bluecoat is not a available in Utah. I've seen it offered in SD, but I've never tried it. There are all kinds of interesting things at Bevmo that I've never tried before. PS. I hope you guys stocked up on gin last week. There was a gin 'special', and Hendricks has gone up about 5 bucks a bottle as of today. If you guys have any liquor/beer questions I'm sure I've got the answers for you. Most of you guys know that Beer is my realm of expertise.

I would if I thought anyone would really care what I have to say! haha
The other problem is most of the beers I would get to talk about wont really be available where you guys are. What I could do is check out the UDABC website and see what you guys have available and write about that. If we really get some awesome stuff available here I might be persuaded to send you guys some, but most of the awesome stuff that's available here takes some getting used too. I could send you guys some awesome sours, but if you're pallet isn't developed for sours, the beers will just taste like ass. I had the same experience with Cherry Luv at Squatters, it was a barrel aged cherry sour that Jenny made. Back in the day I couldn't stand or really even appreciate that beer... now I would love to compare what I thought about it in 06 to what I think about it in '10.

I want to throw it out a few thoughts that I have on gin and tonic:
* I have discovered that the best way to purchase your tonic is either in the little glass bottles, or 6 pack cans. My logic on this is that it's hard to drink a full two liter of tonic in one evening, and after that it is basically flat. Tonic must be at it's fullest carbonation to really make the drink worth while. Purchasing your tonic as I have said will allow you to have excellent drinks on days two and three.
* Tonic tends to be ultra carbonated. I have had many occasions where I open a bottle of it and it goes everywhere. Proceed with caution. Hehe.
* When I am at a party, I tend to use the limes in my drink to keep track of how much I have drank. On the first drink, I start with two slices of lime. From then on I add one lime slice for each drink. 4Four lime slices in your cup? You have had three drinks.

Being as the GBX Gin and Tonic came from Muji to begin with, we should all take the above advice into consideration at all times I am definitely with Zac on this one, flat tonic = fail. Smaller, glass Tonic goes a long way. Good couple tips bro! Only other thought, what do you do when your glass is more limes than anything else? HaX OuT.

Mushroom tea and gin huh? Gross.
As far as gin goes, I also recommend combining Gin with the Arizona branded Arnold Palmer. It's a great combo of gin+tea+lemonade.
