My Two cents worth on the i7 2600K you can't beat it for the price ...
For the average user the extra features (Hyper Threading support, additional 2MB L3 cache, slightly higher clock speed and higher turbo frequency for the integrated graphics) found in the i7 2600K may not justify the extra cost over a i5 2500K.
However, if the system is used for heavy video related work or CPU rendering then you could say that the tangible benefit over the 2500K is acceptable. Or you simply want to have one of the fastest CPU for under $350.00; at least it is much better than anything AMD has currently available.
