Nice... 3.8 isn't bad at all.

What cooling solution are you using? With a solid air-cooling solution, you can take those to 4.2 with a rather high probability of success. Besides the cooling solution, what case and memory solution have you gone with? Maybe we can suggest some things to help you achieve a higher clock speed. Or perhaps you choose to run it at 3.8 for additional peace of mind in terms of the 'stability factor'.

I just thought I would throw a post back in this thread real quick, sorry to necro but I loves my new CPU!

Recently bought my 1090t for the overclocking headroom, haven't gotten around to perfecting my build (still need to decide on proper cooling), but for now with my MSI OC Genie I'm getting fantastic results on stock.

With stock cooling (which I am very impressed with, I was quite happy opening the heatsink) and only using OC Genie I got it to 3.65 without blinking and haven't had an issue at all. Temps barely get to 80 after running Prime95 for a couple hours.

Once I finally decide on what air cooling solution I want my goal is 4.5 GHz which I think will be very achievable.

AMD X6 1090T
MSI 890FXA-GD70
OCZ Reaper (2x4 GB)
MSI Radeon 5830 1GB

I'm excited for my future results and any other results that anybody else has.

nice man. We're still holding true to the intel stuff - but you'll probably see a lot more AMD from us in the future. I'm waiting for bulldozer. (:
