So most of us here at Geekbox have been on the StarCraft 2 Beta for quite some time. (Thanks Bill for scoring us the blizzcon beta key!) The game has changed quite a bit, but a lot of what makes the game great is still here. I'm interested to hear what others think of the game. There's a lot of debate in regards to how "dumbed down" the game is. For instance, if you were pretty hardcore in the original StarCraft, you immediately noticed that micro in basic areas of the game have been dumbed down/automated - where as there's still plenty to manage with the new units.

I personally have been a huge fan of the game, despite some of the more advanced aspects of micro being simplified. There's also a mod for SC2 that's supposed to be the equivalent to what Pro Mode was to Quake 3... a little more true to what made the original game great.

I remember being very decent at original StarCraft (granted that was a long time ago), but, apparently I am not that good at SC2. First impressions were disappointing to be honest, but, that was months ago looking at original game play footage. I kinda forgot the emphasis Blizzard has on content, balance, pvp, and mechanics, not graphics haha. Having played the beta and now have the release in hand I am very excited- Initial thoughts were dead wrong! Its very refreshing to feel challenged in a game  Cool The micro is phenomenal, enough to keep a skilled player busy to say the least. The graphics are awesome for an RTS, a lot of attention to detail, runs very smoothly on my rig. Anxious to run through the Campaign this evening as well. All in all, amped to sink my teeth into StarCraft again!
